IDIAP is part of this initiative, which aims to promote more equitable research and innovation activities by incorporating a gender perspective

  • 30 APRIL 2026

The Women’s Health Innovation Network (XWHIN), the first network in Spain dedicated exclusively to integrating gender equity and innovation in the field of health, was publicly presented during the event ‘Among Women’, held at the Sant Pau Modernist Complex on April 24, 2026.

More than 80 professionals participated through short presentations and spaces for debate and co-creation. The session made it possible to define an initial map of priorities that will guide the network’s strategic lines to align research and innovation outcomes with the goal of providing more inclusive solutions with real impact.

IDIAPJGol, member of XWHIN

XWHIN currently brings together 47 research groups and 24 entities, including IDIAPJGol. The network is coordinated by the Sant Pau Research Institute (IR Sant Pau) and has been established with funding from the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR). The aim of this initiative is to transform the way women’s health is studied and addressed, strengthening collaboration between research, primary care, and innovation.

Through this participation, IDIAPJGol seeks to continue contributing to the promotion of collaborative projects that incorporate a gender perspective, reinforcing the Institute’s commitment to research that generates real impact in clinical practice and people’s health.

A commitment to more equitable innovation

The creation of XWHIN responds to the need to integrate a sex and gender perspective across research and health innovation. This first event has been the initial step in activating a network that aims to generate useful knowledge and promote innovation projects with real impact on women’s health and on the population in all its diversity.
