IDIAPJGol secures funding from the Spanish State Research Agency to strengthen its internationalisation

The grant will be used to reinforce the Resource Mobilisation Area team, enabling the Institute to increase its participation in international R&D&I initiatives

  • 19 OCTOBER 2026

The Project Management Unit (UGP) and the Innovation and Knowledge Transfer Agency (AI) at IDIAPJGol have secured funding under the 2026 Call for the Management and Preparation of European Projects, launched by the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI), to promote the Institute’s internationalisation. The grant will run for two years, from January 2027 to December 2028, and will enable the Institute to strengthen the team in its Resource Mobilisation Area to attract international funding.

The aim is for IDIAPJGol research groups to participate in at least two new European projects under the Horizon Europe programme by the end of the funding period. To achieve this, the Institute will step up its efforts to identify international research initiatives aligned with its research priorities and strategic objectives. It will also organise events, training sessions and information sessions on international research funding calls, while strengthening the support and advice provided by the UGP and AI to the Institute’s scientific community.

IDIAPJGol currently participates in around 30 international consortia through initiatives and partnerships such as THCS, EU4Health and Horizon Europe, among others. In some cases, the Institute takes the lead, as it did in the recently completed L-Health project. In others, it participates as a partner or work package leader, as in the ePro-Schools, JACARDI, xt-EHR, PREVENT, HOPE4KIDS and SP-EU projects, among others.
