IDIAPJGol was represented at the 42nd Annual Meeting of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE), held in Milan from 29 August to 2 September under the theme “Unlocking the Power of Pharmacoepidemiology to Improve Patient Health”. The event is the leading international meeting in the field, bringing together researchers and professionals from academia, healthcare, industry and regulatory institutions to share the latest developments in pharmacoepidemiology and the use of real-world data and evidence for research and healthcare decision-making.

IDIAPJGol researchers contributed to the scientific programme through several oral and poster presentations developed in collaboration with national and international research groups. The studies addressed issues including medicines and vaccine safety, drug use and prescribing patterns, pregnancy and maternal health, paediatric populations and chronic diseases.

Talita Duarte Sallés presented studies on medicines and vaccine safety, including research on COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy and studies conducted as part of the DARWIN EU project. Maria Giner Soriano and Anna Vilà Claret contributed to research on drug utilisation and treatment patterns, based on SIDIAP data and in collaboration with healthcare databases from other countries.

Martín Solórzano presented research on real-world evidence, healthcare data methodology and the evaluation of medicines and vaccines, including studies on dengue vaccines in endemic settings.

IDIAPJGol’s presence at this international meeting strengthens the international visibility of primary care research conducted in Catalonia and the institute’s participation in international networks and initiatives such as DARWIN EU, VAC4EU, SIGMA, the EU PE&PV Research Network and ENCePP.
