IDIAPJGol brings the primary care perspective to the International Pharmacovigilance Forum

IDIAPJGol researchers Felipe Villalobos and Martín Solórzano took part in several sessions highlighting collaboration, governance, and the use of real-world evidence in pharmacovigilance

IDIAPJGol was represented at the mid-term symposium of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP), held in Hatfield (United Kingdom) on 9 and 10 June 2026. The event brought together researchers and healthcare professionals to discuss the future of drug safety in a context where data are playing an increasingly important role.

Representing IDIAPJGol were researchers from the Cross-Cutting Research Unit, Felipe Villalobos, the Institute’s Commissioner for Internationalisation and Secretary General of ISoP, and Martín Solórzano, a member of the ISoP European Chapter Steering Committee. Both researchers addressed issues related to collaboration among the different stakeholders involved in medicine safety, governance, and the use of real-world evidence in pharmacovigilance.

During the symposium, Villalobos led a workshop dedicated to integrating real-world evidence into pharmacovigilance workflows. The session explored how data generated through routine clinical practice can contribute to medicine safety monitoring and support regulatory decision-making.

Meanwhile, Solórzano highlighted the initiatives currently being undertaken by the European Chapter to strengthen governance, increase member engagement, and expand the role of this ISoP section as a platform for collaboration and professional development in the field of pharmacovigilance across Europe.
