The Jordi Gol Primary Care Research Institute (IDIAPJGol) has signed a collaboration agreement with Nestlé España S.A., through its Purina division, to promote research in animal assisted interventions in the field of primary care.
The agreement establishes an economic contribution of 20,000 euros aimed at supporting the projects of the research line in animal assisted interventions of the RETICAP group of the IDIAPJGol. This line is led by M. Dolors Rodrigo Claverol, researcher at the Institute and president of the ILERKAN association.
New therapeutic strategies
This collaboration reinforces the commitment of IDIAPJGol to the generation of scientific evidence in the field of primary care, especially in the exploration of new therapeutic strategies that contribute to improving the health and well-being of people. In this sense, animal-assisted interventions represent an emerging field with a growing potential in clinical and community practice.
For its part, Nestlé, through Purina, promotes initiatives aimed at promoting the health and quality of life of both people and animals, and is committed to innovative projects that favor their integration and well-being.
The agreement guarantees the scientific independence of the IDIAPJGol, which will maintain ownership of the results derived from the research projects. Likewise, it establishes a framework of collaboration that promotes the dissemination of the generated knowledge, respecting the criteria of confidentiality and scientific quality.
