BEAMER is a consortium made up of several European countries (Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) that aims to develop a model to help promote improved treatment adherence behaviour.
As part of his participation in the project, Dr Vilaplana has been interviewed to talk about quality care, stressing that it means “always responding to patients’ needs and preferences while ensuring their safety and well-being”. He also highlights the need to support healthcare professionals by providing “basic aspects such as safety, effectiveness and efficiency in all treatments that may be given to patients”.
Through the UEM, IDIAPJGol will contribute to the BEAMER project its scientific expertise and knowledge on adherence, medication safety and the evaluation of adherence to drug combinations. The objective of IDIAPJGol in this project “is to provide methodological support and up-to-date knowledge regarding treatment adherence”.
