
Josep Vidal, the coordinator of the Central Catalonia Research Support Unit (USR) at IDIAPJGol, has been appointed Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC), after successfully completing the internal promotion process carried out by the institution. Dr. Vidal has been collaborating with UVic-UCC for six years, where he coordinates the Family Medicine course.
Josep Vidal holds a PhD in telemedicine and currently works as a family physician at the Central Catalonia Territorial Management of the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS). Within the Central Catalonia USR, where he serves as coordinator, he leads a clinical research team focused on research and innovation in health services, primarily aimed at improving the efficiency of primary care services.
He is part of the Health Promotion in Rural Areas (PROSAARU) research group, where he leads the research line on new technologies and telemedicine. He is a member of EURIPA, the European Rural and Isolated Practitioners Association, as well as a member of the assembly of the WONCA Working Group on Rural Practice (RuralWonca).
