Who we are

The Jordi Gol i Gurina University Institute for Primary Health Care Research Foundation (IDIAPJGol) is a leading center for research and health promotion at the primary care level, which aims to promote and develop innovation, clinical, epidemiological and health services research in the field of primary care, and offer training with the aim of generating knowledge, disseminating results and transferring them to clinical practice to contribute to efficiency in the health system and promoting and improving people’s health.

The Jordi Gol i Gurina Foundation was created in 1996 by the Catalan Institute of Health, with the aim of promoting and managing innovation, training, teaching and clinical, epidemiological and health services research in the field of primary care. In 2006, it was renamed the Jordi Gol i Gurina Institute for Primary Health Care Research Foundation (IDIAPJGol) thanks to an agreement with the Department of Health. In 2010 it was attached to the UAB as a University Institute for Research in Primary Care.

 

Its name comes from Dr. Jordi Gol i Gurina (1924-1985), a physician.
