Catalunya Central

The USR of Central Catalonia is a territorial unit of the IDIAP Jordi Gol based at the CAP Bages (Manresa), which supports research and innovation in the field of primary care. Its mission is to promote, facilitate and coordinate research projects among healthcare professionals in the territory, with special attention to rural and semi-urban environments.

It coordinates competitive research initiatives, research training, methodological support and scientific dissemination. It also supports doctoral work and pre-doctoral training, especially in topics related to primary care, digital health and community health.

It has extensive experience in the application of new technologies in primary care, including telemedicine, artificial intelligence and digital tools to support clinical decisions.

The team, with a multidisciplinary profile, actively collaborates with research groups such as PROSAARU (Promotion of Health in Rural Areas) and I4PC (Intelligence for Primary Care), and promotes the creation of a new group dedicated to planetary health.

The USR Catalunya Central maintains close ties with the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia and with other local and international institutions, with the aim of promoting relevant, applied research with a real impact on the health of the population.
