Researcher Isabel Moreno receives award for best research paper in the field of primary care at the Maresme Research Conference

Pere Torán, coordinator of the Metropolitan North Research Support Unit (USR), receives the award for best doctoral thesis and the Gonçal Calvo i Queraltó Scholarship for research in primary health care

Isabel Moreno Hernández, a researcher from the Metropolitan North Research Support Unit (USR), received the Primary Care Award at the 28th Maresme Research Conference, organized by the regional branch of the Academy of Medical and Health Sciences of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, held in Mataró, on June 19.

Dr. Hernández received this award for her work “Description of the use of C-reactive protein in a primary care centre,” which she conducted with C. Duran, A. De los Heros, A. Sanvicente, J. Gerhard, E. Aguilar, and S. Montesinos.

During this event, Pere Torán Monserrat, coordinator of the USR, was also honoured with the Regional Delegation of the College of Physicians award for the best doctoral thesis, “Identification of liver fibrosis in the general population using non-invasive diagnostic methods.” Dr. Torán also received the Gonçal Calvo i Queraltó grant for research in primary health care, organized by the Maresme Branch of the Academy, the Maresme Delegation of the Official College of Physicians of Barcelona, ​​and the Primary Care Committee of CAMFiC.

The Maresme Research Conference aims to highlight the research work carried out in the field of health in the region. The event includes two presentations –hospital and primary care– and aims to share and highlight studies developed between 2022 and 2024, whether already completed or in the final stages.
