FACE MASKS
In the wake of COVID-19, the use of elements such as vaccines or fase masks to prevent infection became increasingly important. The latter became part of our daily life for many months. In this study, a new face mask, marketed by Goma Camps SL and incorporating virucidal technology developed by the CSIC, was evaluated in comparison with the traditional fase masks used by health professionals during their daily work. A qualitative and quantitative study was carried out to assess the opinions of professionals from different Primary Health Care Emergency Centres (CUAP).
BIBS
In nursing homes it is common for caregivers to handle adults, whether it is during times of care or feeding. Gomà- Camps has designed new, larger bibs that protect the person from exposure to liquids or fluids. A study was carried out among caregivers in different nursing homes and social and healthcare centres to evaluate the characteristics of these new bibs compared to those normally used. It’s a qualitative methodology study, in which the client was given the items to improve their product in order to try to introduce their product into the nursing home market.
RETINOGRAPH
Diabetic patients are at risk of developing diabetic retinopathy and need regular monitoring. This study assessed the implementation of a mobile device that enables the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases related to the retina. The study involved a range of primary care professionals, from both rural and urban areas, who had been using the device for some time and shared their experiences, as well as those of their patients. The aim was also to identify facilitators and barriers to the implementation of telemedicine. The project was carried out under the contract of the consortium, including, San Juan de Reus Hospital and ICS as part of the EIT Health call.
