The Board of Trustees appoints an External Scientific Council made up of professionals with recognized experience, which acts as an advisory body regarding the scientific activities of the IDIAPJGol and ensures the scientific quality of the Institute.

Functions
Ensure the scientific quality, ethics and good scientific practices of the Institute.
Act as a liaison between research groups and researchers at the national and international level with the Institute.
Advise and assist the Scientific Director of the Institute in matters of research policy and the selection of research staff.
Prepare an annual report on the evolution of the Institute in the scientific field, addressed to the Board of Trustees
