The latest edition of the PAAS (Comprehensive Plan for Promoting Health through Physical Activity and Healthy Eating) awards recognized two projects from the Jordi Gol Primary Care Research Institute (IDIAPJGol). These awards, presented on November 26, 2024, acknowledge initiatives that promote health through physical activity and healthy eating.

In the healthcare field, the Diabetes Research Group Reus-Tarragona (GDRT) from IDIAPJGol received the award for the DP-TRANSFERS program, a method aimed at improving screening and prevention of type 2 diabetes in primary care. This intervention, led by researcher Joan Josep Cabré Vila, focuses on modifying lifestyle habits to reduce the impact of the disease.

On the other hand, the Obemat 2.0 clinical trial, which involves researchers Josep Basora and Pablo Hsu, received an honorable mention. This study demonstrates that motivational interviews, combined with support from dietitians and training for healthcare professionals, improve the treatment of childhood obesity, especially in young children, through personalized techniques and practical workshops.
