Researchers Martín Solorzano and Felipe Villalobos, from the VAC4EU group at the Jordi Gol Institute for Primary Health Care Research (IDIAPJGol), took part in the World Vaccine Congress Europe, held in Barcelona from October 28 to 31. This congress is one of the most relevant events internationally in vaccine research and development, bringing together experts from various fields to address challenges and advances in global vaccination.

Felipe Villalobos played a prominent role in a panel organized by VAC4EU titled "How to Generate Regulatory Grade RWE for Vaccines." The session, moderated by the president of VAC4EU, Miriam Sturkenboom, featured speakers from key organizations such as Teamit, RTI Health Solutions, and IDIAPJGol, as well as representatives from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The discussion focused on strategies to generate regulatory-grade real-world evidence (RWE) for vaccine safety and effectiveness, with particular emphasis on low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) and lessons learned during the pandemic in high-income countries (HIC).

In addition to participating in the panel, the research group presented a poster with the results of the study "Association between COVID-19 Vaccines and Menstrual Disorders: Retrospective Cohort Study of Women Aged 12–55 Years Old in Catalonia, Spain." This study examines the association between COVID-19 vaccination and menstrual disorders, analyzing a sample of over 1.17 million vaccinated Catalan women aged 12 to 55. The study has identified possible effects of different types and doses of vaccines on menstrual health, an important aspect for better understanding the side effects of vaccination.
