Rosa Morros (UEM) and Gemma Falguera (USR MetroNord), recognized at the 14th ICS Research Conference
This year, the Award for Research Career in Primary Care and the Award for Nursing Research Career from the ICS went to two professionals from IDIAPJGol.
In the case of Rosa Morros, head of the Medicine Studies Unit, the recognition of her career in research in Primary Care is doubly relevant since it is the first time that this award goes to a woman and, furthermore, in a professional who is not a family doctor.
The award recognizes excellent research in the field of primary care, highlighting its contribution to positioning primary care in drug evaluation structures and its support for carrying out clinical trials with drugs.
Morros has also participated in 76 scientific articles on the use and effectiveness of medications, adverse effects, complications and epidemiology. It also stands out for the creation and coordination of the IDIAPJGol Clinical Research Unit within the Spanish Clinical Research Newtwork (SCREN) platform. Her teaching vocation is clear in her career as an associate professor at the university, the supervision of five doctoral theses and various master's projects. He has also participated in the development of ICS clinical practice guidelines and the CatSalut therapeutic harmonization guidelines. Finally, the ICS recognizes its leadership in the creation of the Clinical Research Ethics Committee at the IDIAP.
On the other hand, Gemma Falguera, responsible for Sexual and Reproductive Health Care (ASSIR) of the North Metropolitan Primary Care and main researcher of the GRASSIR group, has received the award for her contribution to knowledge in the field of sexual and reproductive health from a nursing perspective.
Falguera has also published numerous relevant articles in her field and has been the principal investigator of two primary care projects of the Strategic Plan for Health Research and Innovation (PERIS) of the Department of Health, one of which is currently being implemented. He has notable teaching experience, with two supervised doctoral theses and two others in progress. Regarding the activity in transfer to clinical practice, it stands out for the creation, together with two other professionals, of a selection and appointment program for cervical cancer screening at the Primary Care Clinical Station (ECAP) of the ICS and for the coordination of the Sexo Jóvenes website, which derives from his doctoral thesis.
Finally, during the 14th ICS Research Conference, the work of IDIAPJGol researcher Roger Mallol was also recognized. Specifically, the award went to the best poster.
