Carles Vilaplana, a member of the UEM who participates in the BEAMER project, talks about quality care

Carles Vilaplana, data analyst and IDIAP researcher Jordi Gol in the Medicine Studies Unit (UEM), participates in the BEAMER European consortium financed by the IMI (Innovative Medicines Initiative).beamer

 BEAMER is a consortium made up of several European countries (Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) which aims with the project to develop a model that helps promote an improvement in treatment adherence behavior.

 

As part of his participation in the project, Dr. Vilaplana has been interviewed to talk about quality care and remarks that this means responding "always to the needs and preferences of patients, guaranteeing their safety and well-being". It also highlights that medical staff must be supported by providing "basic aspects such as safety, effectiveness and efficiency in all treatments that can be given to patients".

IDIAPJGol through the UEM will contribute to the BEAMER project scientific experience and knowledge on adherence, medication safety and evaluations of adherence to drug combinations". The goal of the IDIAPJGol in this project "is to provide methodological support and up-to-date knowledge regarding treatment adherence".
