IRBLleida expands the photographic exhibition on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science

The Lleida Biomedical Research Institute (IRBLleida) has expanded the photographic exhibition made up of photographs of the professionals who make up the Institute . In 2021, 4 more posters and 90 more professionals will be added.

The sample is made up, in total, of 10 cadres with a total of 243 research professionals. The new paintings can be seen from tomorrow in the Biomedicina I building.

Women represent 59.8% of the professionals hired or assigned to the Institute (researchers who are part of the University of Lleida, primary care health centers, the Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital or the Santa Maria University Hospital ). * IRBLleida is made up of 247 women, of whom 202 are research staff and 45 are managerial or technical support staff. Of the total of 202 research professionals, 16 researchers are heads of research groups (44.4% of the total heads of groups), 84 are research researchers, and 102 researchers in training (or doctoral students).

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science aims to promote the full and equal participation of women and girls in education, training, occupation and decision-making processes in science , as well as to eliminate all types of discrimination against women in the spheres of education and occupation, breaking down legal, economic, social and cultural barriers through policies and curricula in the field of science to encourage greater participation of women and girls, and acknowledge their successes.
