Metropolitana Nord

The Metropolitan North Research Support Unit (USR MN) was created in 2009 within the framework of the Metropolitan North Primary Care Directorate (DAP), as a result of the merger of the former USR Barcelonès Nord i Maresme and USR Centre, active since 2006. Functionally, the unit depends on the IDIAP Jordi Gol i Gurina.

Due to its wide territorial coverage and its origins, the USR MN has two headquarters: one located at the CAP La Llàntia, in Mataró, and another at the CAP Fontetes, in Cerdanyola del Vallès.

The main objective of the USR MN is to promote, promote and support scientific research in the field of Primary Health Care, within the territory of the Primary Care Management and the Barcelonès Nord i Maresme Community and the Primary Care Management and the Vallès Occidental and Vallès Oriental Community.

This territorial area includes more than 80 primary care teams, with a total of around 10,552 professionals who provide coverage to more than one and a half million citizens. The USR MN is mainly aimed at professionals from the Catalan Health Institute (ICS) who work in primary care in the territory, although it also collaborates with other providers, levels of care and external centers, promoting collaborative, multidisciplinary research aimed at improving the health of the population.
