The Clinical Research Management Agency in Primary Care (AGICAP) is the division of IDIAPJGol dedicated to the promotion and management of clinical trials involving pharmaceuticals.
Our network of certified investigators ensures successful recruitment for your clinical trial.
We offer sponsors and CROs a single ethics committee, fast recruitment, high-quality data, streamlined procedures, and overall agility throughout the process. In addition, we handle all necessary authorizations, draft contracts, and manage payment settlements.
Our coverage includes 87% of Catalonia’s total population (7 million): hundreds of thousands of patients from which to select candidates for clinical trials.
Objectives
Promotion of High-Quality Research in the Form of Clinical Trials in Primary Care in Catalonia
Comprehensive support for clinical trial sponsors, covering project feasibility as well as technical, scientific, administrative, and collaborative aspects.
Development and execution of clinical trials initiated within the network or by external sponsors, subject to prior approval by the IDIAP Jordi Gol Ethics Committee (CEI).
Training in clinical trial research for Primary Care professionals.
Promotion of mutual collaboration among network researchers.
Facilitation and coordination of idea exchange, research projects, and identification of research needs in Primary Care across Catalonia.

Family physicians, nurses, pediatricians, obstetrician-gynecologists, pharmacologists, and pharmacists with proven experience in conducting clinical trials, working across more than 70 Primary Care centers throughout Catalonia.

AGICAP Network
AGICAP has a network of more than 300 accredited investigators across Catalonia with proven experience in conducting clinical trials, including family physicians, pediatricians, gynecologists, traumatologists, pharmacologists, and nurses, supported by a single Research Ethics Committee (CEI).
This network has enabled the recruitment of over 3,900 patients for 511 clinical trials focused on the most common and prevalent chronic conditions in Primary Care, such as cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases, and vaccines—particularly in Phase III.
AGICAP also participates in various project feasibility studies, both in the pre-approval and post-approval phases of clinical trials.
