On May 22, the Polvorí Hall of the Parador of Tortosa hosted a day focused on healthcare research and training, featuring the awarding of the 2025 Dr. Ferran Grants and the farewell ceremony for ICS residents in Terres de l’Ebre. The event brought together healthcare professionals, authorities, and organizations from the region.
The main grant, endowed with €3,000, was awarded to the project “Escola del Cuidar”, led by Claudia Curto (from EAP Amposta), which evaluates the effectiveness of a support program for caregivers of patients with dementia. The runner-up prize of €1,500 went to a study on molar-incisor hypomineralization, coordinated by Sílvia Lluís (CAP Roquetes).
Additional special grants were awarded to several professionals for their research and academic work. Among those recognized were Mónica Dearos, Ruth Tortosa, Raquel Fresquet, Javier Bodoque, and Laia Vilar, for their scientific publications and postgraduate studies.
The event also featured a lecture by Ramon Cugat, an expert in sports medicine, and a tribute to the companies that collaborate with the Dr. Ferran Foundation. The day concluded with a heartfelt ceremony honoring the residents who have completed their training in Terres de l’Ebre’s healthcare centers, followed by a reception at the Suda Castle.
