More than fifty professionals from IDIAPJGol took part in the internal analysis session that will contribute to the development of the Institute’s new 2026-2030 Strategic Plan. The workshop, held on Wednesday, March 25, at the Business School Management building of Pompeu Fabra University, is part of the diagnostic phase of the new plan and aims to identify the organization’s main strengths and areas for improvement.

The session began with a welcome address by the Institute’s director, Josep Basora, who highlighted the importance of involving professionals in building a shared strategy aligned with the organization’s future challenges.

This was followed by a lecture by Borja Arrizabalaga Uriarte, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of the human resources consultancy TalensIA, who addressed ethical intergenerational leadership in the field of research. His talk focused on the importance of leadership, team cohesion, and process improvement in complex environments such as healthcare and research.

The workshop also served to share the work previously carried out to assess the 2021–2025 Strategic Plan, which has been positively evaluated in terms of its level of achievement. This prior work included reviewing the Institute’s mission, values, and vision, as well as establishing a steering group responsible for monitoring the new plan.

Group discussions

The core of the session consisted of group work, in which participants were divided into four teams to analyse key areas of the organization: organization and management, professionals, resources, and activities and processes. For more than two hours, the groups discussed and agreed on proposals to identify strengths and areas for improvement in each of these areas, using a participatory methodology based on internal analysis.

Afterwards, each group presented its conclusions to the rest of the attendees, allowing contributions to be shared and opening a space for collective discussion among all participants. The workshop concluded with a summary of the main results and the definition of next steps, which will include an external analysis to identify opportunities and threats and to further develop the new 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, followed by a networking lunch for attendees.
