
The research team is made up of almost 30 professionals from various disciplines and we focus our research on the study of diabetes and its complications, both in the field of primary care and in hospitals. The group has demonstrated a great ability to generate ideas, projects and publications in recent years.
The main lines of research of the group fundamentally revolve around three axes: the epidemiology of different aspects of the diabetic disease, the presence of chronic complications and their risk factors and Precision Medicine applied to diabetes, especially at the moment of his debut and prognostic classification.
The group is a pioneer at State level in these areas, and has active collaborations with numerous national and international groups. To highlight the stable collaborations with Artificial Intelligence groups such as those of the UPC or the involvement in several international epidemiological networks for the study of diabetes such as those led by Leicester University (UK) or Monash University (Melbourne ).
In the last 5 years the group has published 301 articles of which 149 are in Q1 (50%) and 99 in D1 (33%). The average Impact factor of the articles is 5.61
