
Last week, the awards for the 2022 Research Challenge were presented in Lleida. This call is open to professionals who are in the early stages of their research careers and who wish to promote projects with an impact on health. The initiative is promoted by the ICS and the Territorial Management for Innovation, Research and Teaching. IDIAPJGol has provided methodological support to the participants.
This year, the projects awarded the €6,000 grant were:
1st Prize: “Study on the effectiveness of hysteroembryoscopy for the etiological diagnosis of recurrent first-trimester miscarriage and its impact on women’s future reproductive outcomes.”
Author: Laura Melé Olivé (Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital).
2nd Prize: “Study of the impact of sleep health on knee and hip arthroplasty procedures in Lleida.”
Author: Jordi Colomina Morales (Santa Maria University Hospital).
3rd Prize: “Effect of chronosynchronization on the metabolic progression of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.”

This was the second edition of the Research Challenge, and this year the theme was open. In the previous edition, projects had to focus on COVID-19. This year’s edition saw a 40% increase in participation.
