Hepatic Diseases in Primary Care Research Group
Description
This group is made up of various professionals and researchers from the Primary Health Care Area of North Metropolitan Barcelona and Maresme and from Research Support Unit of the same area and counts on the support, collaboration and guidance of members of the Hepathology Service of the Hospital Clínic and the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS).
The group’s objective is research related with liver diseases, both alcohol-related and non-alcoholrelated and it is developing various lines of research: the study of behaviour changes deriving from social changes produced by migratory movements in order to detect drinkers at risk and offer opportunities for treatment; to improve knowledge of the etiology, the use of health resources and diagnostic tests, the diagnostic performance of the tests and the therapeutic handling of this situation by health professionals in their normal practice.

Non-alcoholic liver steatosis; effectiveness of an interaction to slow progression to more serious forms Transmissible hepatitis; effectiveness of prevention and detection of the population at risk; Alcohol as an etiological hepatopathy risk factor.
