Organs of governance
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The Board of Trustees is the highest organ of governance, administration and representation of the IDIAP Jordi Gol.
The functions of the Board of Trustees are:
• To ensure compliance with the aims of the entity.
• To accept its own research projects and projects from external programmes with a contents in agreement with the aims of the entity.
• To approve the general plan of action of the IDIAP Jordi Gol, the programme of activities, costs and sources of funding proposed by the management.
• To approve the yearly budget of the IDIAP Jordi Gol.
• To approve the compulsory yearly reports, inventories, balance and statements of accounts.
• To dictate, if necessary, a Code of Internal Regulations.
• When appropriate, to modify the Statutes and any other regulations of the IDIAP Jordi Gol i Gurina Foundation, in accordance with the Law.
• To arbitrate on contended issues in agreement with the interests and goals of the IDIAP Jordi Gol i Gurina Foundation.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Board of Trustees appoints and determines the administrative and representative functions of the Executive Committee.
These functions are:
• To create and approve proposals of research and training within the IDIAP Jordi Gol.
• To allocate resources to research and training programmes.
• To decide and authorise projects that will use investment and the technical and administrative facilities of the organization in accordance with the priorities and interests of the IDIAP.
• To recruit staff and modify labour relations within the IDIAP Jordi Gol i Gurina Foundation.
• To execute and ensure the implementation of the agreements of the Board of Trustees related to the matters of their competence and any other delegated to the Committee.

INTERNAL SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE
It aims to provide advice regarding the daily responsibilities of the Management.
The functions of the Internal Scientific Committee are:
• To elaborate the Strategic Plan of the IDIAP Jordi Gol and to submit it to the Trust for approval.
• To follow up and monitor the Strategic Plan.
• To analyse and evaluate the quality and adequacy of the scientific programmes, Research Support Units (RSU), specialized areas and the IDIAP as a whole.
• To coordinate the work of the different specialized areas, ensure accessibility to common platforms and organize scientific meetings.
• To supervise the research groups and projects with regard to the scientific aspects of training, budget management and good practice, specifically in relation to the management of clinical data.
• To evaluate potential future projects of the IDIAP Jordi Gol.
• To undertake the responsibilities of Research Committee as stated in the calls for proposals of the ISCiii.
• To support and assess the calls for proposals of the IDIAP Foundation.
• To collaborate with the Scientific Director of the IDIAP to promote and expand the external relations of the IDIAP with other research institutes, universities, research networks and groups, CIBER, scientific societies and research support entities.

EXTERNAL SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL
The Trust nominates an External Scientific Council to provide advice on the scientific enterprises of the IDIAP Foundation and to safeguard the scientific standards of the Institute.
The functions of the Independent Scientific Committee are:
• To evaluate the scientific, technical and good practice quality of the IDIAP.
• To link research groups of the IDIAP with national and international investigators.
• To advice the scientific director in matters of research policies and selection of research personnel.
• To write a report on the evolution of the IDIAP based on the evaluation of the strategic plan approved by the Board of Trustees.
