Description
The outstanding characteristics of this group are its multidisciplinarity, with professionals from family medicine, nursing, physical education and physiotherapy, and its territorial diversity, with professionals from three different areas of the Catalan Health Service (ICS) and three Catalan universities. It participates in the ISCIII-accredited redIAPP network through the CARDIOCAT group.
Its principal objective, as the name indicates, is lifestyle research, particularly its various research projects investigating assistance for smokers, the promotion of physical activity and the effects of lifestyle on health, and above all cardiovascular pathology. It has also initiated a line of research into traffic injury prevention and the influence of lifestyle (consumption of alcohol and psychoactive substances) and other health factors (chronic pathologies and use of medicines).
