Description

This is a multidisciplinary research team constituted by primary care professionals of the Terres de l’Ebre health region, professionals from the hospital Verge de la Cinta of Tortosa, members of the Catalan Institute of Pharmacology Foundation and of the Research Support Unit Terres de l’Ebre. The main objectives of the PreCarTe are the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases through the detection, treatment and control of modifiable cardiovascular risk factors: smoking, dyslipidemia (particularly hypercholesterolemia), high blood pressure, diabetes, overweight and obesity.

Research Lines

Primary prevention of stroke and impact of early detection of atrial fibrillation (AF) in stroke prevention, Type 2 diabetes and the role of the Mediterranean diet in preventing the decline of renal function, LDL-C control in ischemic heart disease through the implementation of a clinical guideline.
