Description

The members of the group work in different areas of the primary care health system, including management, teaching, patient care and research. The group’s principal researcher is the co-ordinator of the vascular prevention group of the Health Department’s Vascular Diseases Plan. The group’s members participate in the ISCIII-accredited redIAPP network through the CARDIOCAT group. In collaboration with researchers from the Mar Institute for Medical Research (IMIM) and the cardiological service of the Josep Trueta Hospital, it forms part of the REGICOR group (Girona Heart Register). Its main objective is research related to cardiovascular diseases and their risk factors.

Epidemiological study of cardiovascular disease and its risk factors. Development of a system pf cardiovascular risk functions. Prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Prevalence and incidence of silent myocardial infarction. Effectiveness of a feedback intervention on primary health care professionals to improve the degree of control of cardiovascular risk. Evaluation of the reliability of diagnostics and the accuracy of variables registered in electronic medical records.
