Cancer in Primary Care Research Group
Description
The Cancer-PC Research Group is constituted by a multidisciplinary, multicentre team of professionals with different levels of experience in research. In addition, other professionals such as lecturers, epidemiologist, oncologists, clinical geneticists and other specialists from the Catalan Programme of Oncology and the Genetic Counselling Unit participate in specific aspects of the studies as advisors. The goal is to establish research networks between primary care professionals within Catalonia (North Metropolitan Area, Barcelona, Central Catalonia and South Metropolitan Area). The research programme aims to prevent risk factors, achieve early detection (screening and early detection based on clinical signs and symptoms) of any cancer in healthy people and in people at risk, as well as to follow-up cancer patients. The main objective is to improve interventions aimed at cancer control from Primary Care.
