Respiratory Diseases - Vallès Oriental Research Group
Description
This is a multidisciplinary group composed of family doctors, nurses, pneumologists and paediatricians, almost all of them working in clinical care. For eleven years the group has been organising biannual symposium on COPD and asthma in primary health care, and for the last seven years it has organised a smoking symposium jointly with the Catalan Society of Family and Community Medicine (CAMFiC). The groups objective is to research the causes and consequences of obstructive respiratory diseases.
Research lines
Asthma: prevalence of occupational asthma and connection between asthma in primary immunodeficiencies, COPD: quality of life, early diagnosis with COPD and respiratory physiotherapy, Tobacco: smoking habit in complex patients and relapses of smoking.
