Epidemiological Research Group in Stroke from Primary Care
Description
This group comprises primary health care professionals from Terres de l'Ebre with an interest in the study of stroke from 2006, when the Stroke Code was implemented in this region. They collaborate with specialists in Cardiology and Neurology of the hospital Verge de la Cinta. Up to 2016, the research areas of this group are included in the EBRICTUS Group (www.ictusandstroke.com), accredited by the Primary Care Research Institute IDIAP Jordi Gol (2016-2019) and more recently by the AGAUR, Generalitat de Catalunya SGR 2014-2016 (Agency for the Management of University and Research Grants, DOGC núm. 7379 291 de maig de 2017). This group has developed a unique database through which three health regions (Terres de l'Ebre, Barcelona right and Vallès Occidental) have participated in the pilot of the implementation of the Atrial Fibrillation Health Care Route in Catalonia, under the auspices of the Catalan Health Service Department of Vascular Disease and the Terres de l?Ebre Emergencies Commission of the Catalan Health Service; and together with the Vall Hebron Institute of Research Foundation they are PIs in the Research in Atrial Fibrillation in Catalonia (AFRICAT, grant number: 201528-30-31-3 MARATO TV3, NCT03188484); they also participate in the international, prospective, multicentre RIVER Registry (TRI08890), led by the Thrombosis Research Institute (London) to observe the management and short and long term results of non valvular atrial fibrillation treated with Rivaroxaban.
