Jordi Gol and Gurina Award for career

The Jordi Gol i Gurina Award is given to those health professionals who have excelled during their professional career. This year, the Academy of Medical and Health Sciences of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands has recognized Dr. Rafael Azagra for his extensive career as a researcher and teacher, as well as for the healthcare work he carried out for more than 40 years in Badia del Valles. The doctor Azagra has been named an Honorary Member of the Academy.

CAMFiC Award for the best scientific publication

The study on the psychological impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on patients, citizens and health professionals by Dr. Enric Aragonés, the fellow researcher of the IDIAPJGol Maribel Fernández San Martín and Josep Maria Molina, of the Occupational Health Unit of the ICS, has been recognized by the CAMFiC as the best publication of 2022 in the field of Medicine family

The article "Psychological impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on primary care workers: a cross-sectional study", was published in the British Journal of General Practice. "The article is of great interest to the scientific community and, in particular, to family doctors. Although there is abundant literature on the psychological impact of the pandemic on health personnel, few studies have specifically analyzed the situation in Primary Care workers", remarks Dr. Aragonès, leader of the MINDCOVID-19 project (with funding from the Carlos III Health Institute) and principal researcher of the Mental Health and Primary Care Group of the IDIAPJGol.

Josep Davins i Miralles Prize for Care Quality

The COMFIA project, developed by IDIAPJGol researcher Dr. José María Palacín Peruga and his team from Lleida's CAP Onze de Setembre, has won the Josep Davins i Miralles Award as the best healthcare quality project.

COMFIA proposes a collaborative work based on small teams of three professionals (family doctor, nurse and administrator), with work protocols that order, prioritize and speed up the tasks related to face-to-face consultations and allow to optimize the time available to attend to patients. This has made it possible to reduce waiting times, increase resolution (and reduce referrals to other levels of care), improve quality standards and achieve greater patient and professional satisfaction.

CAMFiC Award for the best doctoral thesis

The work "Relationship between thyroid hormones and non-alcoholic fatty liver in the general population", by Alba Martínez Escudé, has won the prize ex aequo for the best doctoral thesis in Family Medicine of the CAMFiC. The IDIAPJGol researcher and member of the GRemHAp research group defended the project in 2022 at the University of Barcelona.

Josep Trueta Award for the career of a research group

The Research Group on Liver Diseases in Primary Care (GRemHAp), of the IDIAPJGol, has been awarded the Josep Trueta Prize 2023. When awarding this recognition to its research career, the Academy of Medical Sciences and Health of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands has valued "the diversity of articles, the impact and the transcendence of the subject, a meritorious study of the relationship between hepatic steatosis and other associated pathologies".
